Wolves Fall in Overtime

Khalil Meadows
Box Score The University of the Sciences (3-2) scored the first seven points of the overtime and earned a 71-63 victory.

A Calvin Brown traditional three point play with just over a minute to go gave the Wovles a three point lead (57-54) but Dylan Kerwin netted the equalizer that sent the game to OT. They were Brown's only points of the night. However Brown did register six blocked shots.

In the first half the Wolves found themselves down by as many as seven (14-7) but were able to rally thanks in part to the hot shooting of Khalil Meadows and Mike Drinks. Meadows, a sophomore, led the Wolves with 10 points in the first half. He connected on all three of his shots from behind the three point arc and was a perfect 1-1 from the charity stripe. Drinks, a junior, ended the half with nine points on three of four shooting, all from long range. Cheyney's final 15 points of the first half were on five three pointers (Meadows 3, Drinks 2).

Meadows only added two more points to his total while Drinks was held scoreless in the second half and overtime. Deshawn Curtis paced the Wolves with 18 points. Jerrod Johnson chipped in 16.

The Wolves used an 8-2 to start the second half giving themselves their Wolves their biggest lead of the night 34-28. However, the Devils battled back to take a 46-45 lead with just under eight minutes to play. Neither team had more than a three point advantage the rest of the way.

Garret Kerr recorded a double double to lead the Devils. He tallied 23 points while grabbing 14 rebounds.

Cheyney is back in action on Saturday afternoon at arch rival Lincoln. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
