Deshawn Curtis scored 27 points while grabbing 12 rebounds but it wasn't enough as the Wolves fell 72-57 to Bloomsburg. It was Curtis's third double double of the young season.
Cheyney never trailed during the first half. The Wolves went on a 9-0 run to own an 11 point advantage, 25-14 after Curtis hit a jumper with 6:26 to play in the first half. However the Huskies went on a 9-0 to cut the deficit to 25-24. The streak was stopped when Curtis hit a jumper to give the Wolves a three point advantage at intermission.
With the Huskies clinging to a 46-45 lead, they went on an 11-1 to take their biggest lead of the night, 57-46 with 4:36 remaining. The Wolves briefly cut the lead to nine but the Huskies answered with a 9-0 run of their own to push the advantage up to 18, their largest lead of the night. The Huskies shot an impressive 75% (15-20) in the second half to secure the victory.
Alssene Saintilus paced the Huskies with 19 points.
Cheyney is back in action on Saturday afternoon. The Wolves host Mansfield at 3:00 pm in Cope Hall.
