Despite 19 points from Rashaad Slappy and 17 from Brandon Norfleet, Cheyney (9-12:7-10) fell 80-64 to Bloomsburg (7-14:5-12).
The Huskies built up a 17 point lead, 33-16, late in the first half before the Wolves went on an 8-1 run to close the half and cut the deficit to ten. Three minutes into the second half the Wolves Jason Sabb threw down a dunk that cut the lead to three. Nursing a fived point lead, the Huskies went on a 5-0 run to push the lead to double figures for the first time in the second half. Cheyney was able to trim the lead to eight on several occasions but could not get any closer.
Lorenzo Christmas and Dontahe Jordan scored 29 and 28 points respectfully. The duo was 24-27 from the charity stripe. The Huskies dominated from the foul line in the second half. During the final twenty minutes Cheyney was 8-10 while Bloomsburg was 24-28.
Cheyney returns home on Wednesday to host Millersville at 8:00 pm in Cope Hall.
