Kevin Larkin
Box Score

Kevin Larkin scored 21 points to lead Cheyney (1-9:0-5) in a losing effort.  The freshman has tallied double figures in every game this season.  The Wolves fell 82-70 to Mercyhurst (8-3:5-1).

The Lakers jumped out to a 16-6 lead and never looked back.  The Lakers got the lead up to 19 before Cheyney rallied to cut the deficit to 11, 32-21, by going on a 10-2 run to end the half.  The Wolves quickly brought the lead down to single digits.  However, the Lakers went on a 7-0 run to push the lead back up to 16.  Mercyhurst got the lead up to 24 before Cheyney battled back to cut the lead to seven, 69-62 on a Larkin three-pointer with 2:41 to play.  Five consecutive free throws by the Lakers, Terrence Ingram pushed the lead up to 74-62.  Ingram's free throws started a spurt where the Lakers made 11-14 from the charity stripe in the final two minutes to preserve the victory.

"This was a tough two game stretch that I thought would be grueling and it was,"  stated Head Coach Dominique Stephens.  "The guys competed very hard on both nights.  Tuesday night we had a great start and a tough finish.  Tonight we started slow and had a tough well fought finish.  We have to focus on playing 40 minutes instead of 20; in this case 80 minutes instead of 40.  Kevin (Larkin) had a solid second half; scoring 21 hard earned of his points in the final 20 minutes.  We have to put two halves together if we are going to beat a good team in Gannon on Saturday."

Sean Beins came off the bench to pace the Lakers with 24 points on 10-15 shooting.

The Wolves are back in action on Saturday afternoon.  The Gannon Knights invade Cope Hall for a 3:00 pm tip.
