Wolves Fall in OT

Jerrod Johnson tallied a team high18 points but it wasn't enough as Cheyney (1-14:0-10) fell 70-68 in OT to Millersville (7-9:4-7).
It was a Kevin Larkin lay-up with :03 seconds remaining in regulation that sent the game to overtime. 

Cheyney had two chances in the closing seconds of the extra period to win or send the game to a second overtime period but a three-point attempt and a follow up jumper were both off the mark.

The Wolves got out-muscled on the boards as the Marauders owned a 61-38 rebounding advantage.  However, the Wolves were able to force a season high 33 turnovers. 

Neither team owned more than a seven point lead in the first half with the Marauders taking a 33-29 lead into the locker room at the break. 
Midway through the second half the Marauders built the lead up to 15 points; 51-36.  With Millersville nursing a 12 point lead with seven minutes to play, the Wolves began their comeback.  Cheyney went on a 10-0 run to cut the deficit to two, 55-53 with just over four minutes remaining.  The Marauders built the lead back to seven, 60-53 with just over three minutes to play. However, the Wolves went on a 9-2 the rest of the game to send the contest to an extra period. 

Cheyney only made one field goal in the overtime period as the Wolves suffered their 12th loss in a row.

Cheyney returns home on Wednesday to face PSAC East rival East Stroudsburg at 8:00 pm in Cope Hall.
