Senior Mike Drinks Nets a Career High on Senior Day

Despite Mike Drinks scoring a career high 20 points while dishing out six assists, the Wolves fell to West Chester (15-12:13-8) 81-73.Cheyney's (2-24:1-20) Rafiq Marshall also tallied a career high 17.  Meanwhile seniors Khalil Meadows and Charles Ayetigbo added 12 and 11 points in their final game in Cope Hall.

The Cheyney – West Chester men's game did not disappoint those fans used to seeing a good college basketball contest. After the first ten minutes of a back and forth affair the Golden Rams were able to build up an eight point lead thanks in part to a 9-0 run that turned a one point Cheyney lead into a 25-17 West Chester advantage.  The Golden Rams went into the half time locker room owning a 35-28 lead. 

In the second half the Wolves quickly trimmed the lead to one (37-36) by starting the period on an 8-2 spurt.  Cheyney was finally able to take a 61-60 lead after a three-pointer by Ayetigbo with just over eight minutes to play.  Two minutes later and the contest knotted at 63, the Golden Rams went on an 8-0 to take control.  Cheyney briefly trimmed the deficit to six but would get no closer. 

Five Golden Rams scored double figures.  They were led by Cory Blake's 14.  Matt Wisely added 16 rebounds.

Cheyney ends the season on Wednesday night at Shippensburg.
