ERIE, Pa. –The Cheyney University men's basketball team dropped a 80-48 decision to host Gannon University Sunday afternoon in PSAC crossover action inside the Hammermill Center.
Freshman Kyle Parker scored a career-high 11 points to lead the Wolves (0-4, 0-2 PSAC E) who led 7-4 early in the game, but the golden Knights (2-2, 1-1 PSAC W) took control with a 19-4 run.
Freshman Cliff St. Juste scored eight points and grabbed three rebounds, Junior Jonathan Howard secured a team-high eight rebounds with six points and Sophomore Zahir Stewart scored seven points and grabbed three boards.
Evan Phoenix paced the Golden Knights with a game-high 17-point and 15 rebound performance, while Zay Jackson matched Phoenix with 17 points including four from beyond the arc.
The Wolves, who are off for the Fall break, return to action on Thursday, Nov. 30 for the Battle of the First at Lincoln University with the tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
