CHEYNEY, Pa. – Briana Hedgepeth scored a season-high 12 points, but a 10-minute drought in the middle of the second quarter through the beginning of the third quarter turned a 29-24 deficit into a 47-24 advantage as #16 Edinboro University went on to an 87-46 victory over Cheyney University Saturday afternoon in PSAC Crossover action inside Cope Hall.
The Wolves (1-9, 0-5 PSAC E) trailed 20-12 after the first quarter, but opened the second with a 6-1 run to make it a 21-18 game at the 8:35 mark.
The Fighting Scots (8-0, 5-0 PSAC W) pushed the lead back to eight at 26-18, but Hedgepeth sparked a Cheyney run with two baskets and Drazana Vulic scored to cut the deficit to 29-24 with 4:0r left in the second quarter.
Edinboro closed the half with the final 12 points to take a 41-24 edge after 20 minutes.
Yasmine Dorrielan pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds and recorded a game-best five blocks, Jamyra Maye added eight points and K'viah Breazeale scored a rookie season-high seven points.
Ciara Rosten tied for game-high with 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to help Edinboro stay undefeated.
The Wolves travel to West Liberty, West Virginia on Tuesday night in its final game before the holiday break with the tipoff scheduled for 5:30 PM.
