JENKINGTON, PA - Sophomore
Jireh Kelly (Salisbury, MD) recorded a season-high with 11 digs, but the host Nittany Lions of PSU Abington picked up its seventh straight victory, of the season, inside the Athletics Center on Tuesday night.
Kelly who also reached double figures in digs with 10 vs PSU Lehigh Valley in the Wolves home opener, also added three kills for Cheyney (1-5), who could not capture their second win in a row, after defeated Manor College on Saturday at Rosemont.
Freshman
Kennedy Jones (Havertown, PA) paced the Wolves with five kills and added two digs, while sophomore
Vita Fitch (York, PA) recorded a team-high nine assists.
Three senior's,
Veronica Martin (Philadelphia, PA) with three digs and an assist,
Hassana Coleman (Philadelphia,PA) who registered two kills and
Adele Mosley (Philadelphia, PA, Bodine H.S. for Iinternational Affairs) with a service ace, aided the Cheyney cause on Tuesday..
The Nittany Lions out of the Penn State University Athletic Conference, (7-1, 0-0 PSUAC) pounded down 28 kills with only 7 errors in picking up the three-set victory.
The Wolves will travel to the Washington D.C. area for its next outing with host Trinity College on Saturday September 24. Cheyney may also have a second match on Saturday with the times to be determined.
