Jordan Bushrod
Head Men’s Basketball Coach | Cheyney University of Pennsylvania
Jordan Bushrod embarks on his first season as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Cheyney University, marking his debut as a head coach after four years of experience at the NCAA Division I, high school, and NJCAA levels. Cheyney officially announced his hiring on October 7th, and he has hit the ground running, focused on rebuilding the program's legacy.
Before joining Cheyney, Bushrod served as the Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at the College of Southern Maryland. During his tenure, the team earned back-to-back top-four seeds in the Region 20 tournament. Under his guidance, Southern Maryland consistently ranked among the top three in Region 20 for key offensive metrics, including points per game, assists, and three-pointers made.
Prior to his time at Southern Maryland, Bushrod was an assistant coach at Legacy Early College, a nationally ranked high school program competing in the prestigious Nike EYBL Scholastic Conference. In one season, he played a pivotal role in the skill development and recruiting of several players who went on to compete at the NCAA Division I and II levels.
Bushrod began his coaching career as a Graduate Assistant at Delaware State University, his alma mater. As a graduate assistant, he focused on operations, skill development, and scouting. During his four-year playing career at Delaware State, he was a two-time team captain, a MEAC Academic All-American, and a four-year letter winner.
Eric Skeeters, former Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Delaware State University, had high praise for Bushrod:
"Jordan is an enthusiastic young coach with a bright future in the industry. Cheyney has made a great hire and will be a special program again."
With a passion for player development and program building, Coach Bushrod is dedicated to fostering success on and off the court for his team at Cheyney University.
