Alishia Mosley

Alishia Mosley begins a second season as the Cheyney University women's basketball Head Coach in the 2023-24 season.

Coach Mosley had the benefit of a full season of recruiting, after being hired in March of 2022. The program had been dormant since the spring of 2020, due to the Covid-19 cancellation in 2020-21 season and the decision to not field a team during the 21-22 season.  

The Wolves played the 22-23 season with only one or two bench players available, while the core players played a majority of minutes during the season. The 23-24 season will feature a deeper bench and give Coach Mosley and opportunity implement a more up tempo style.

Coach Mosley came to Cheyney after being an assistant coach for both men's and women's basketball at Lincoln University of PA and Women's basketball at Fayetteville State, Coach Mosley has achieved success due to her dedication to the profession and strong work ethic.   Her passion for the sport of basketball spreads quickly. Coach Mosley's goal is to create a student-athlete that is prepared for both life on and off the court.

Coach Mosley developed, and implemented, a scouting analytics process for coaching staff and student athletes to use and helped to guide the Lady Lions to the most wins in program history, with several players earning all CIAA honors.  

Mosley has operated a skills program to help develop high school, college and professional players, and has spearheaded basketball camps. 

Mosley began coaching at Fayetteville State University in NC, as a graduate assistant on the women’s basketball staff in 2017 and earned a master’s degree in Business Administration Concentration Management in 2019.  

During Mosley's two seasons as a coach, the Broncos won the Southern Division of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association back-to-back times. The Broncos' defense finished third in the CIAA and 24th overall among NCAA Division II teams in 2018–19.  

Mosley completed her playing career in 2015 at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC, while earning a degree in sports management. 

A North Carolina all-state player as a senior and 2010 District Eight player of the year, Mosley was inducted into the Union Pines High School Hall of Fame in 2019.
