Cheyney University's Cope Hall was the site of the first day of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference volleyball crossover matches.  In the opener, the host Lady Wolves fell in three sets to Gannon.  Then Kutztown played host to Mercyhurst also falling in three straight.  The third match of the day pitted Kutztown and Gannon with, Gannon prevailing 3-1.  Cheyney fell to Mercyhurst in the nightcap 3-0.

The Lady Wolves held their own despite the tough competition.  Cheyney fell behind in the first set 12-5 and never fully recovered as the Knights went onto to a 25-13 victory.  In the second set, Gannon jumped out to a 10-3 lead and held the same seven point lead at 15-8.  The Knights then went on a 10-3 spurt to close out the set.  In the third set, Cheyney owned a 5-3 advantage but shortly their after, the Knights were able to knot the set at 7 before taking a 10-7 lead.  Cheyney was able to trim the lead to two at 13-11 but would not be able to get any closer as Gannon went on to win 25-18.

In the Lady Wolves final match of the day, Mercyhurst out-dueled Cheyney 25-9, 25-12 and 25-19.  It was all Mercyhurst in the first set as the Lakers scored the first seven points en route to victory.  Set number two was more of the same as Mercyhurst started strong jumping out to an 11-4 lead and was not seriously threatened.  In the third set the Lady Wolves were not going to make it easy on the Lakers.  Cheyney owned the early lead before Mercyhurst rallied at knot the score at 6.  With the score still tied at 11, the Lakers went on a 5-0 to take control of the match.  The Lady Wolves were able to cut the deficit to three (17-14) but were unable to get any closer.
