PHILADELPHIA, PA – Sr. Akia Harris recorded a season-high 29 digs as the Cheyney University volleyball team traveled to Philadelphia to take on the University of the Sciences for a non-league battle on Thursday night inside Bobby Morgan Arena.

The Devils (1-2) captured the match in three straight sets. The Wolves (0-4) were able to push the final set to a 25-25 tie before falling 27-25.

So. Virshawna Campbell led Cheyney with six kills and added eight digs, Sr. Chelsea Hutson recorded five kills and seven digs, while Fr. Bryanna Taylor registered a career-high nine assists with five digs.

Cheyney was be squaring off with its second straight CAAC foe, after a match at Goldey-Beacom last week, while the Devils were facing their third straight PSAC South opponent. USciences was swept by West Chester and Kutztown in their first two matches of the season.

The Wolves will take on The Lincoln University, in the Battle of the First" on Thursday night at 7:00 PM inside Cope Hall.
