The Cheyney (5-20) Women's volleyball team, having the best season in more than 25 years, upended Lincoln (2-14) 3-0 for the second time this season.

Freshman hitter Breanna Joseph led the way with a season high 15 kills off 34 attacks. Lindsay Ashby and Taniqua Purdie added five kills apiece. Kennetha Wallace also recorded a season high 23 assists. Akia Harris and Nichel Bryant led the squad with 10 digs apiece.

In the first set, Cheyney jumped out to a 7-1 lead before the Lions rallied to cut the led to 7-5. However, Cheyney extended the lead to 13-6 but the Lions would not go away and crept back into the set. With the Lady Wolves leading 18-15, Cheyney would win the next four points to take control of the set en route to a 25-20 victory.

Early in the second set it was a back and forth affair. With the Lions leading 11-10 and CU's Virshae Campbell serving, Cheyney went on a an 8-0 run. Lincoln was able to cut the deficit to three on a couple of occasions but Cheyney was able to close out the set 25-18 by winning the final four points.

In the third set, Cheyney jumped out to a 7-2 lead but Lincoln would not go away quietly. Lincoln battled back to take a 24-23 lead but the Lady Wolves scored the game's final three points to earn a 26-24 and the 3-0 sweep of the Lions.

Cheyney will get back to the rigors of PSAC play on Friday night. The Lady Wolves will host East Stroudsburg at 7:00 pm in Cope Hall.
