CHEYNEY, Pa. - So. TaKayla Ellis led the Wolves with 19 points, but visiting Bloomsburg University scored an 89-68 victory in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) women's basketball action Wednesday night inside Alfred Cope Hall.

Kyra Hines-Allen and Amber Genwright both scored 16 points for Cheyney (2-15, 0-13 PSAC E). The Huskies (10-5, 8-5) had four players reach double-figures in scoring, led by Adreana Sadowski who netted 27 points.

Bloomsburg never trailed in the game and jumped out to a 14-3 lead and had a 24-14 edge after the first period.

Genwright connected on a three-point shot to cut the lead to seven in the opening minute of the second period, but the Huskies responded with seven straight points to push the lead to 14 at 31-17 at the 7:08 mark.

Cheyney closed to within eight after back-to-back baskets from Ellis and Genwright made it a 35-27 game with 2:48 remaining in the first half, but Bloomsburg ended the half on an 8-to-0 run and took a 44-27 lead into the break.

Genwright and Ellis scored seven points each to pace the Wolves, while the Huskies made all five of its three-point attempts in the first half.

The Wolves scored the first four points to open the third period, but that was as close as they could get as the Huskies would reel off seven straight points to put the game away.

Ellis, who shot 6-of-10 from the field and 6-of-7 from the free-throw line in scoring her team-high 19 points, also had two assists and a steal in the contest.

Genwright, who scored her 16 points on 5of-10 shooting from the field and a 5-for-6 effort from the charity stripe, had a team-leading three assists to go with three rebounds and a steal.

Hines-Allen scored 16 points and pulled down a team-high seven rebounds with a steal.

Bloomsburg dished out 21 assists in the contest and connected on 19-of-21 free-throw attempts.

The Wolves are scheduled to host Kutztown University on Saturday Jan. 23 at 1 p.m. inside Cope Hall.
