Men's Basketball Drops Home-Game to Hot Shooting Lock Haven

CHEYNEY, Pa. – Jr. Rafiq Marshall scored a team-high 18 points, but visiting Lock Haven made 20-23 free-throws in the second half to pull away for a 103-74 victory in PSAC East action Wednesday night inside Alfred Cope Hall.

Marshall went 6-of-8 from the field including making both of his three-point shots and connecting on all four of his free-throw attempts to lead the Wolves (1-13, 1-9 PSAC E). Amir Hinton the PSAC's leading scorer at over 22 points a game, led the Bald Eagles (8-6, 4-6 PSAC E) with 27 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field and 9-of-9 from the line.

Jr. Issac Bittle scored a career-high 10 points and So. Amir Boney added 11-points and grabbed six rebounds. So. Dikemba Amugo pulled down a game-high seven boards with two blocks.

The Wolves kept the first half close and used a 6-1 run, all on offensive rebounds and put backs, to make it a 24-22 game with 8:50 to play in the first half. Bittle started the run, then Boney did the same to make it a four point contest and then Imir Bailey cut the deficit to two at the 8:18 mark.

After the Bald Eagles pushed the lead 48-36, Marshall  ended the half with a personal five-point run to make the score 48-41 at the break.
Marshall led all-scorers with 14 points in the first half and Bittle had eight and three rebounds, Hinton paced Lock Haven with 12, Ra'eese Hunt chipped in with 11 and Cole
Renninger added 10 points four rebounds and three assists.

Boney brought the Wolves within six, at 50-44, when he rebounded his own missed free-throw and converted a layup.

A steal and a dunk from Hinton ignited a 20-4 blitz that put the game away for the Bald Eagles.

Both teams shot well from the field Lock Haven ended 31-62 (50%) while Cheyney ended 29-59 (49.2%). The difference in the game came from beyond the arc where the Bald Eagles made 10-21 (47.6) and the Wolves connected on only 2-9 (22.2%) and at the free-throw line where they finished 31-36 (86.1%) compared to 14-25 (56%) for the Wolves.

Cheyney heads to West Chester on Saturday for a 3 p.m. tipoff with the Golden Rams.
