MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Cheyney University Sr. Basir Fulmore scored a career-high 21 points, but host Millersville University jumped out to an early lead and never trailed in defeating the Wolves 97-67 Wednesday night in PSAC East action inside Pucillo Gymnasium.
Fulmore added eight rebounds three steals and two assists for the Wolves (2-16, 2-12 PSAC E), Jr. Imir Bailey came off the bench to score 10 points and Jr. Rafiq Marshall finished with nine points seven rebounds and five assists. Marcus Atkinson led five Marauders (6-12, 5-9, PSAC E) who reached figures with 24 points.
???????Cheyney kept the game close and trailed by only two-points at 12-10 with 14:02 to play in the first half, but Millersville went on a 21-4 blitz to take control of the game and a 33-14 advantage.
The Wolves trailed 46-31 at the half as Marshall connected on a three-pointer at the buzzer to cut the deficit down to 15.
???????Fulmore led the Wolves with 10 first half points and five rebounds and Marshall added six points and five boards.
???????Cheyney pulled within 13 points early in the second half on six points from So. Amir Boney, but the Marauders pulled away and held their largest lead of the contest at the end.
???????Boney finished with eight points and Jr. Issac Bittle came off the bench to score seven points and grab four rebounds.
???????Cheyney is back in action on Saturday when it hosts Bloomsburg to start the second half of the PSAC East schedule with the tipoff scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
