CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Yasmine Dorrielan scored 15 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to collect her first double-double at Cheyney University, but it was not enough as a frantic fourth quarter comeback fell short and the women's basketball squad dropped a 57-52 decision to Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) on the final day of the CIAA/PSAC Challenge Saturday afternoon inside Brayboy Gym.

The Wolves (0-2) trailed by as many as 19 points in the third quarter, and were able to cut the deficit down to three on a basket from So. Gianni Hill to make a 53-50 score with 1:20 remaining, but could get no closer.

Devona Stell led the Vikings (1-1) with 13 points and 10 rebounds including a basket with 1:00 remaining to put ECSU up 56-50.

Cheyney trailed 44-25, when Hill, who finished with 14 points, started the comeback with a steal and two free-throws as part of a personal seven point run, the Wolves went into the fourth quarter down 48-32.

Dorrielan opened the fourth with a basket to spark a with a 12-to-1 run. Jr. Marlon Herring scored and Hill connected from downtown, following an ECSU free-throw, Fr.Ja'la Walker made a steal and a layup, then three points from Dorrilean made it a 49-44 game with 5:25 showing on the fourth quarter clock.

Stell pushed the lead to seven with a basket, but Hill responded to cut the deficit back to five, ECSU scored again, but Dorrielan and then Hill responded to make it a three-point game with 1:20 to play, but the Wolves could not score again until a Dorrielan layup with 15 seconds left.

Sr. TaKayla Ellis added 10 points, five rebounds and three assists, Fr. Jamyra Maye had a team-high four assists.

Cheyney travels to Baltimore, Md. on Monday, Nov. 13, to face HBCU and Division I foe Morgan State University at 5:30 PM.
