CHEYNEY, Pa. – Visiting Indiana University of Pennsylvania jumped out to an 11-0 lead en route to a 92-67 victory over Cheyney University in men's PSAC crossover action Sunday afternoon inside Cope Hall.
Jeff Lewis led the Wolves (1-6, 1-3 PSAC E) with a career-high 18 points and seven rebounds,
Cliff St. Juste, who made five three-pointers in Saturday's win, went 3-of-4 from beyond the arc and finished with 13 points.
Ayron Hutton went 7-of-10 on three-pointers to pace IUP (6-4, 3-1 PSAC W) with a game-high 21 points, Jacobo Diaz grabbed 15 rebounds scored 15 points and recorded six assists.
After falling behind 11-0, the Wolves battled back with a 7-0 run to cut the lead to 11-7.
Kyle Parker put Cheyney on the board with a basket with 13:49 to play then Lewis scored on a driving layup and was fouled and converted the free-throw and
Olin Ugo grabbed an offensive rebound and made two from the line.
IUP replied with nine straight points to regain control of the game and the Wolves could not get any closer than nine the rest of the game.
Parker finished with 10 points five rebounds and three assists, Juste added four rebounds and three assists, Ugo scored seven points and grabbed three rebounds,
Derrick Biney scored seven points and
Johnathan Howard contributed with six points and four rebounds.
The Wolves return to action on Thursday with a trip to Richmond, Va., to play Virginia Union in a non-conference game with the tipoff scheduled for 7:00 PM.
