EAST STROUDSBURG, PA- The Cheyney University volleyball team held a 27-26 lead in the third set, but three straight points by host East Stroudsburg University propelled the Warriors, to a straight sets victory in PSAC Southeast action, Friday night inside Koehler Fieldhouse.

The Wolves (3-16, 0-10 PSAC SE), trailed 24-20 in the final set, before reeling off four points in-a-row to tie the set at 24-24. The Warriors (11-13, 3-7 PSAC SE) regained the lead, but So. Alaiya Cave tied the set at 25-25 with a kill, then an error by ESU had the Wolves on the brink of forcing a fourth set. The Warriors responded with the final three points of the set and captured the match (25-14, 25-16, 29-27).

So. Virshawna Campbell led Cheyney with seven kills and eight digs, Sr. Chelsea Hutson added six kills, while Cave finished with four kills, two aces and two blocks.

Fr. Mary Flores recorded 10 assists, six digs and two blocks, Sr. Nishay Carrier registered five assists, as did Fr. Bryanna Taylor, who was also credited with six digs, and Sr.
Akia Harris tied Campbell for team-high with eight digs.

The Wolves travel to Kutztown on Saturday for another PSAC SE battle, with the first serve against the Golden Bears scheduled for 1:00 PM.
