Box Score
Faye Dunston and Kyra Hines-Allen scored 14 points each as Cheyney fell to Clarion 65-61.
The Lady Wolves fell behind early but Shayna Miller drained a three-pointer to tie the game at five. Miller was a perfect three for three from behind the arc. But Clarion would answer with a 10-0 run. Cheyney battled back and took their first lead of the contest 19-18 after Hines-Allen drained a pair of free throws at the 8:29 mark of the first half. Cheyney was able to build the lead up to eight before settling on a 33-31 half-time lead.
Midway through the second half the Lady Wolves were clinging to a two point lead. The Eagles went on a 7-0 run to take a five point lead, 52-47, which they would not surrender. A pair of Destiny McFarland free throws cut the lead to two with just under five minutes to play but that would be as close as the Lady Wolves would get.
The Cheyney defense forced 24 turnovers but the Lady Wolves were out-rebounded 52-40.
Cheyney will return home on Friday at 1:00 pm to face Gannon.
