Despite Kina Jackson netting 13 points and grabbing eight rebounds the Lady Wolves fell 64-42 to Lincoln in a non-conference women's basketball game.
Lincoln jumped out to a 15-4 lead midway through the opening half. Cheyney was able to cut the lead to lead seven after a Amber Grenwright layup with just over seven minutes to play in the half. However, the Lions would close the half on a 16-3 run to take a 31-11 lead into the locker room.
The Lady Wolves were outscored 33-31 in the second half but never seriously threatened during the final twenty minutes.
"I have to get our kids focused and ready to play," commented Cheyney head coach Kyle Adams. " Lincoln did that today. Jessica Kern, Lincoln head coach, has done a magnificent job of building that program and estblishing a positive culture. I am trusting in this process. We will continue to learn and grow. I believe in our kids."
Cynthia Johnson led the Lady Lions with 13 points while Courtney Lucas led all players with 12 rebounds.
The Lady Wolves struggled shooting the ball all afternoon. In the first half, Cheyney was 5-22 from the field and only slightly better in the second half at 12-44.
Cheyney will jump back into conference play on Wednesday night at Bloomsburg.
