Lachelle Miller netted 19 points while team mates Amber Grenwright and Kia Whitley-Duncan added 15 and 11 points respectively. Shayna Miller grabbed a career high 11 rebounds but it wasn't enough as Cheyney fell to East Stroudsburg 70-58.
With the Warriors leading 12-11 they went on a 6-0 run to take an 18-11 advantage. Cheyney battled back to cut the deficit to three after Shayna Miller drained a pair of free throws. ESU answered with a 9-2 run to push the lead to ten. The first time the Warriors owned a double digit lead. The Lady Warriors went into the locker room holding a 33-23 lead.
A Lachelle Miller jumper quickly cut the lead to eight but that would be as close as the Lady Wolves would get the rest of the game. The Warriors were able to stretch the lead to 27, 70-43. However, the Lady Wolves would out score ESU 15-0 over the final 4:08 four the final margin of victory.
Jessica Martin led three Warriors in double figures with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Cheyney is back in action on Saturday afternoon in Cope Hall. The Lady Wolves will take on the Eagles of Lock Haven at 1:00 pm.
