Kyra Hines-Allen scored a team high 21 points and team mate Lila Jones added 11, all from the charity stripe but it wasn't enough as Cheyney (1-4) 88-53 to Virginia State (4-1) in the opening round of the Chick-Fil-A Classic hosted by Virginia State. 

The Lady Wolves struggled offensively.  Cheyney shot 27% (15-56) from the field.  Virginia State also out-rebounded Cheyney 50-36.
Virginia State scored the first 19 points of the contest and never looked back.  The Lady Trojans owned a 54-21 lead at halftime. 

Cheyney did play much better defensively in the second half.  The Lady Wolves surrendered 20 fewer points in the final twenty minutes and limited the Lady Trojans to 8-29 (28%) shooting. 

Tiffanie Adair paced the Lady Trojans with 17 points and 10 rebounds. 

The Lady Wolves will battle Elizabeth City State tomorrow in the second round of the tournament in Ettrick, VA.  Elizabeth City lost their first round game to Wilmington 73-70.
