Lady Wolves Handle Millersville Again

The Lady Wolves snapped a seven game skid with a 66-62 victory over Millersville (11-13:8-11).  Cheyney has now beaten the twice this season.  It is the first time Cheyney dropped the Marauders twice in a season since the 1981-82 campaign. 

Kia Whitley Duncan paced Cheyney (4-19:4-14) with a season high 26 points.  She tallied 18 of those points in the first half to give Cheyney a 38-23 lead at the break.  The Lady Wolves were firing on all cylinders in the first half hitting on 50% of their field goal attempts.  Cheyney was able to build the lead up to 16 points in the second half before the Marauders battled back to cut the deficit to one, 61-60.  But Cheyney was four of four from the foul line in the closing seconds to preserve the win.  Kyra Hines-Allen and Taschell Phillips added 12 and 10 points respectively for the victors. 

Despite losing the battle of the boards 46-28, Cheyney was able to force 22 turnovers. 

Shelby Reimer led Millersville with 12 points while Yesmin Cooper netted 10 while grabbing 17 rebounds. 

Cheyney looks to make it two in a row on Saturday afternoon at East Stroudsburg.
