Hines-Allen's Double Double is not Enough

Kyra Hines-Allen registered her sixth double double of the season but it wasn't enough as the Cheyney (3-19:3-14) fell to Kutztown (9-12:8-9) 65-60 in a PSAC East women's basketball contest.  Hines-Allen netted 13 points while grabbing 11 rebounds.  However, the Lady Wolves were led by Taschell Phillips's 18 points. 

The contest was a back and forth affair for the first 13 minutes.  With the game tied at 24, Kutztown went on an 8-2 run to take a 32-26 lead at halftime.  The Golden Bears built up a nine point advantage early in the second half but the Lady Wolves battled back with a 9 unanswered points of their own to tie the game at 42.  A Phillips jumper with 4:48 kept the game tied at 52.  However, Kutztown ran off six straight points.  Hines-Allen drained a pair of free throws to bring the deficit down to four with 1:16 remaining but Cheyney would not get any closer. 

Alyssa Bonenberger paced the Golden Bears with 17 points.

Cheyney will take the week off to regroup and prepare for a contest with Millersville next Wednesday night.
