EDINBORO, Pa. Sr. Jowan Lewis-Kearse registered a career-long distance to capture second-place and earn all-conference honors on the first day of the PSAC Indoor Track and Field Championships Saturday inside Mike Zafirovski Dome.
Lewis-Kearse who reached the podium with an eighth place finish in 2016, was competing in his second Indoor championships and jumped 6.87m / 22 feet 6 1/2 inches to claim the runner-up position in the long jump and earn 8 points for Cheyney.
Fr. Daniel Osagie jumped 6.29m / 20" 63" in his first Championship appearance, while Devin Miller raced to a time of 7.15 in the 60m dash and Isaiah Galloway raced to a time of 22.94 in the 200.
Lewis-Kearse who registered the top distance in the PSAC in the triple jump during the season of 14.45m / 47' 5" 2018 will compete in the triple jump on Sunday.
Galloway who earned a second-place finish in the 2017 and Brandon Joyner will compete in the high jump as will the 4X200 relay squad on Sunday.
